모스부호 변환기란?

모스부호(모스코드) 변환기는 텍스트를 국제 모스부호(ITU)로, 모스부호를 다시 텍스트로 실시간 양방향 변환하는 도구입니다. 변환 결과를 WebAudio 소리(삐-)로 직접 재생해 들어볼 수 있습니다. 모든 변환·재생은 브라우저 안에서만 처리되어 입력한 내용이 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.

표기 규칙

점(dot)은 ., 대시(dash)는 -로 표기합니다. 같은 글자 안의 점·대시는 붙여 쓰고, 글자 사이는 공백, 단어 사이는 슬래시(/)로 구분합니다.

예: SOS → ... --- ..., HI THERE → .... .. / - .... . .-. . .-.-.-

방향을 자동감지로 두면 입력이 점·대시·공백·슬래시로만 이루어진 경우 모스부호→텍스트로, 그 외에는 텍스트→모스부호로 자동 판단합니다.

소리 재생 규칙

점(dot) = 1단위 길이 신호음
대시(dash) = 3단위 길이 신호음
같은 글자 안 점·대시 사이 간격 = 1단위
글자와 글자 사이 간격 = 3단위
단어와 단어 사이 간격 = 7단위

What is this converter?

The Morse code converter transliterates text into International (ITU) Morse code and back to text in real time. You can also play the result as sound using WebAudio. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server.

Notation rules

A dot is written as . and a dash as -. Symbols within a letter are written together, letters are separated by a space, and words are separated by a slash (/).

With Auto-detect, input made only of dots, dashes, spaces and slashes is treated as Morse→text; otherwise it's treated as text→Morse.

Gap within a letter = 1 unit
Gap between letters = 3 units
Gap between words = 7 units

What is Morse code?

Morse code represents letters, digits and punctuation as combinations of dots (short signals) and dashes (long signals). This tool uses the International (ITU) Morse code standard.

How is text written as Morse code?

Do I need to pick a direction every time?

No. With "Auto-detect", input made only of dots, dashes, spaces and slashes is treated as Morse-to-text; otherwise it is treated as text-to-Morse. You can still pick a direction manually.

What rules does the sound playback follow?

Sound is played with the browser's WebAudio oscillator. A dot is 1 unit long and a dash is 3 units long; the gap within a letter is 1 unit, between letters 3 units, and between words 7 units.

What happens to unsupported characters?

Characters not in the table (e.g. Hangul) beyond A-Z, 0-9 and basic punctuation (. , ? ! / ( ) & : ; = + - _ " $ @, space) are skipped during conversion.
