한글 로마자 변환이란?
한글 로마자 변환은 한글 이름·단어·주소를 국립국어원 국어의 로마자 표기법(2000)에 따라 라틴 문자(영문)로 바꿔 주는 도구입니다. 여권·명함·해외 서류의 영문 표기를 참고할 때 유용합니다. 모든 변환은 브라우저 안에서만 처리되어 입력한 내용이 서버로 전송되지 않습니다.
변환 방법
각 한글 음절을 초성·중성·종성으로 분해한 뒤, 로마자 표기법의 자모 대응표에 따라 이어 붙입니다.
음절 = 초성 + 중성 + 종성
예: 서울 → seoul, 홍길동 → honggildong. 한글이 아닌 영문·숫자·공백·기호는 변환하지 않고 그대로 통과시킵니다. 단어 첫 글자 대문자 옵션을 켜면 공백으로 구분된 각 단어의 첫 로마자를 대문자로 바꿉니다.
여권 영문이름 주의사항
- 여권 성명은 이미 등록된 표기가 있으면 그 표기를 유지하는 것이 원칙입니다.
- 가족 간 성(姓) 표기는 통일하는 것이 권장됩니다.
- 본 결과는 참고용이며, 실제 발급은 외교부·여권 발급기관 안내를 따르세요.
What is this converter?
The Korean romanization converter transliterates Korean names, words and addresses into Roman letters following the Revised Romanization of Korean (2000). It is handy for passport, business card and overseas document spellings. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server.
How it works
Each Korean syllable is split into initial, medial and final jamo, then joined using the romanization mapping table.
syllable = initial + medial + final
e.g. 서울 → seoul, 홍길동 → honggildong. Non-Korean characters (letters, digits, spaces, punctuation) pass through unchanged. The Capitalize each word option uppercases the first Roman letter of each space-separated word.

- Family members are encouraged to keep the same surname spelling.
