|---|---|---|
| 파스칼 | Pa | 1 Pa |
| 헥토파스칼 | hPa | 0.01 hPa |
| 킬로파스칼 | kPa | 0.001 kPa |
| 바 | bar | 0.00001 bar |
| 기압 | atm | 0.00000987 atm |
| psi | psi | 0.000145038 psi |
Torr | 0.00750062 Torr |
자동차 정비에서는 psi(제곱인치당 파운드)가, 일기예보에서는 hPa(헥토파스칼, =mbar와 동일)가, 병원 혈압계에서는 mmHg(수은주밀리미터)가 표준으로 쓰입니다.
What is pressure unit conversion?
Pressure conversion translates a value between SI units (Pa, hPa, kPa), meteorological/atmospheric units (bar, atm), the US psi, and mmHg/Torr used in medicine and weather. This tool converts every unit through a common pascal (Pa) base so any pair can be computed instantly.
How to use it
Enter a value, choose the from and to units, and the result updates automatically. Use Swap units to flip the two selections.
Result = value × (from-unit Pa) ÷ (to-unit Pa)
Unit reference & notes
Common conversions: 1 atm = 101,325 Pa = 760 mmHg; a 32 psi tire pressure is about 220.6 kPa.
Tire psi, weather hPa, blood-pressure mmHg — why the same pressure gets different units
Pressure is physically a single concept, but each field settled on its own conventional unit. Auto mechanics use psi (pounds per square inch), meteorology uses hPa (hectopascal, identical to mbar), and hospital blood-pressure monitors use mmHg (millimeters of mercury). Each industry simply kept the instrument or convention it was already using when its standard was set, so identical physical pressures become hard to compare once shown in different units.
Convert a typical car tire's pressure (say, 32-35 psi) into weather units and you get 2,206-2,413 hPa — more than double standard atmospheric pressure (1,013.25 hPa) as seen on a weather report. A blood pressure of 120/80 mmHg converts to about 16.0/10.7 kPa; the numbers look like entirely different pressures, but they're directly comparable. Even a strong typhoon's central pressure, which can drop to around 950 hPa, can be converted instantly into psi, atm or any other unit with this tool.
