화면 자란?
화면 자는 별도의 실물 자 없이 브라우저 화면 위에 작은 물체의 대략적인 길이를 cm 또는 inch 눈금으로 재볼 수 있는 온라인 도구입니다. 신용카드처럼 규격이 정해진 사물로 화면을 보정하면 좀 더 실제에 가까운 눈금을 얻을 수 있습니다.
사용 방법
먼저 보정 영역에서 신용카드·명함·A4 용지 중 가지고 있는 기준 사물을 선택하세요. 화면에 실제 사물을 대고, 표시되는 사각형의 폭이 사물의 실제 폭과 같아질 때까지 슬라이더를 움직인 뒤 저장을 누릅니다. 이후 위쪽 눈금자에서 cm/inch 버튼으로 단위를 바꿔가며 화면에 물체를 대고 길이를 읽을 수 있습니다.
보정을 하지 않으면 일반적인 96dpi 기준 근사값으로 눈금이 표시됩니다. 기본값으로 버튼을 누르면 저장된 보정값을 지우고 기본 눈금으로 되돌릴 수 있습니다.
활용 예
실물 자가 없을 때 작은 부품·케이블·카드류의 대략적인 크기를 확인하거나, 온라인 쇼핑 중 상품 실측 사이즈를 화면에서 가늠해볼 때 참고용으로 활용할 수 있습니다.
What is this?
The on-screen ruler lets you measure the approximate length of a small object directly on your browser screen, in cm or inches, without a physical ruler. Calibrating against a standard-size object such as a credit card makes the scale closer to real life.
How to use it
First, in the Calibration section, pick a reference object you have on hand (credit card, business card, or A4 paper). Place the real object against the screen and move the slider until the displayed rectangle's width matches the object's actual width, then press Save. After that, use the cm/inch buttons above the ruler to switch units and measure objects against the screen.
Without calibration, the ruler shows an approximation based on a standard 96dpi assumption. Press Reset to clear any saved calibration and return to the default scale.
Real-world uses
Handy for a quick reference check on the rough size of small parts, cables, or cards when no physical ruler is nearby, or to get a rough sense of a product's listed dimensions while shopping online.
