나침반이란?
스마트폰에 내장된 자기 센서(방위 센서) 값을 이용해 현재 기기가 향하는 방향을 N(북)·E(동)·S(남)·W(서) 및 방위각(0~360°)으로 표시하는 도구입니다. 별도 앱 설치 없이 브라우저에서 바로 사용할 수 있습니다.
사용 방법
방향 권한 허용 버튼을 누르면 iOS(아이폰) 기기에서는 센서 접근 권한을 묻는 팝업이 나타납니다. 허용하면 다이얼이 실제 방향에 맞춰 회전하며 방위각과 방위(N/E/S/W)가 표시됩니다. 안드로이드 등 일부 기기는 별도 팝업 없이 바로 동작합니다.
활용 예
야외 활동 중 대략적인 방향을 확인하거나, 실내에서 방·가구 배치의 방위를 참고하거나, 태양의 위치를 예상하는 등 일상적인 방위 확인에 활용할 수 있습니다.
What is this?
This tool uses your smartphone's built-in magnetic (orientation) sensor to show which direction your device is facing, as N/E/S/W and a heading in degrees (0-360°). No app install required — it runs right in your browser.
How to use it
Tap Allow orientation access. On iOS, a permission prompt will appear. Once allowed, the dial rotates to match your device's actual heading, showing the degree value and direction (N/E/S/W). On Android and some other devices, it works immediately without a prompt.
Real-world uses
Handy for getting a rough sense of direction outdoors, checking room or furniture orientation indoors, or estimating where the sun will be — everyday direction checks.
