EXIF란?

EXIF(Exchangeable Image File Format)는 사진 파일 안에 카메라 제조사·모델, 촬영일시, 노출·ISO·초점거리, 방향, 경우에 따라 촬영 위치(GPS 좌표)까지 함께 저장하는 메타데이터 표준입니다.

GPS 노출 위험

사진에 GPS 좌표가 남아 있으면 촬영 장소(집·직장 등)가 그대로 드러날 수 있습니다. SNS·중고거래 등에 사진을 올리기 전에는 GPS를 포함한 EXIF를 제거하는 것이 안전합니다.

제거 원리

원본 이미지를 브라우저의 캔버스(canvas)에 그린 뒤 새 파일로 다시 인코딩합니다. 이 과정에서 원본에 있던 EXIF 메타데이터가 모두 사라진 깨끗한 이미지가 만들어집니다.

What is EXIF?

EXIF is metadata embedded in photo files that can include the camera maker/model, date taken, exposure/ISO/focal length, orientation, and sometimes the GPS location where the photo was taken.

Why GPS exposure is risky

If GPS coordinates remain in a photo, the exact location it was taken (home, workplace, etc.) can be revealed. Remove EXIF (including GPS) before posting photos on social media or marketplaces.

How removal works
