Analyze & Compare
Analyze and compare text — character count, diff and more. Runs right in your browser.
Analyze & Compare Guide
When writing something with a character limit — a social post, a cover letter — the character counter shows the count including and excluding spaces, plus bytes and word count, updating as you type so you don't blow past the limit.
When it's hard to spot what changed in a long document — a revised contract, a code snippet — paste the original and the revision into the text compare (diff) tool and it highlights only what's different.
Neither tool stores what you paste anywhere; everything is computed and compared on screen only, so closing the tab clears it.
The most common mistake with a character limit is mixing up whether spaces count. A job posting might read "within 1,000 characters including spaces," but checking only the space-excluded number can leave the submission screen blocking you for going over. With document comparison, the opposite mistake is trying to re-read an entire new file from scratch — for anything where the edit history matters, like a revised contract or a code review, opening diff first to see just the changed lines saves time.
