Pre-tax amounts before social insurance and income tax. Includes premiums for the night and holiday work you tick and for overtime beyond 40 h/week or 8 h/day; bonuses excluded. Estimate only.
How is it converted?
The amount you enter is first turned into an hourly wage, then multiplied by the paid hours of each unit.
Daily = hourly × (hours per day + premium hours)
Weekly = hourly × (weekly hours + paid rest hours)
Monthly = hourly × paid hours per month
Annual = monthly × 12
Paid weekly rest is 8 hours at 40 hours a week and shrinks in proportion for shorter weeks (4 hours at 20 h/week). Under 15 hours a week there is no paid rest.
Premiums are added on top of the ordinary hourly wage: +50% for overtime (over 8 h/day or 40 h/week) and night work (10 pm–6 am), and +50% for holiday work up to 8 hours, +100% beyond (Labor Standards Act Art. 56). They do not apply at workplaces with under 5 employees.
What are the 209 hours?
40 working hours plus 8 hours of paid rest gives 48 hours a week. Multiplied by the average 4.345 weeks in a month (365 ÷ 7 ÷ 12) that is about 208.6 hours, rounded up to 209 hours — the standard for converting monthly pay to hourly pay at 40 hours a week. Other schedules are scaled the same way.
