Select an image, then drag over the area you want to cover.

Drag a rectangle on the preview to apply the effect instantly — keep dragging to cover more areas.

What is this?

A tool for hiding faces, license plates, or personal information in a photo. The original image is drawn onto a browser canvas, then only the dragged area is pixelated (mosaic) or blurred — no upload needed, results appear instantly.

How to select an area

Drag a rectangle over the preview with your mouse or finger to apply the current mode instantly. Keep dragging over other spots to accumulate multiple areas in order, or use the Apply to whole image button to process the entire photo at once.

Pixelate (mosaic) vs. blur

Pixelate splits the area into coarse blocks that completely obscure the shape, controlled by the block size slider (4-40px). Blur softly blurs the area with a Gaussian filter, controlled by the blur strength slider. For guaranteed privacy, pixelate with a larger block size is recommended.

Hiding faces & personal information

This tool is designed for covering parts of a photo that shouldn't be public, such as faces, license plates, or personal data in documents. Use a large enough block size (or blur strength) so the area becomes fully unrecognizable.

Privacy & safety

Loading, selecting areas, pixelating/blurring, previewing and downloading all happen entirely in your browser — files are never uploaded or stored on a server.

What is image mosaic used for?
Used to hide faces, license plates, documents containing personal data, or bystanders accidentally captured in the background. Commonly used before sharing photos on social media, blogs, community posts, or screenshots.
How do I adjust the block size (pixelation strength)?
Use the block size slider (4-40px) to control the size of the mosaic tiles. Larger values make the shape completely unrecognizable, while smaller values give a finer, subtler mosaic. For faces or documents that must be fully hidden, a larger value is recommended.
What's the difference between blur and pixelate?
Pixelate splits the area into coarse blocks that completely obscure the shape, making it well suited for reliably hiding personal information. Blur softly blurs the area with a Gaussian filter for a more natural look when full concealment isn't required. For guaranteed concealment, pixelate with a larger block size is recommended.
Can I process multiple areas at once?
Yes. Dragging a rectangle on the canvas applies the effect to that area instantly, and dragging additional areas keeps accumulating the effect in order. Use the 'Apply to whole image' button to apply the same effect to the entire photo.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Loading, selecting areas, mosaic/blur processing, previewing and downloading all happen in your browser only — nothing is sent or stored on a server.
