Image Compressor

Reduce image file size while keeping quality.

Files never leave your device · Processed in your browser

What is this?

Draws your photo onto a browser canvas and re-encodes it at a chosen quality level to shrink file size — no upload needed, results appear instantly.

How to use it

Pick or drop an image and compression starts automatically. Adjust the quality slider, choose an output format (keep original / JPEG / WebP), or check target size to auto-search for a quality that fits your target KB.

Privacy & safety

Loading, compressing, previewing and downloading all happen entirely in your browser — files are never uploaded or stored on a server.

Supported formats
  • Input: JPG, PNG, WebP and other browser-readable images.
  • Output: keep original, JPEG, WebP, or PNG.
How does image compression work here?
Your image is drawn onto a browser canvas, then re-encoded as JPEG/WebP at the quality you choose. Lower quality means less detail but a smaller file.
How much quality is lost?
Around 0.8 quality is usually visually indistinguishable while cutting size significantly. Lower values shrink further but can show blockiness — check the preview before saving.
What formats are supported?
Most browser-readable images (JPG, PNG, WebP) can be loaded, and output can keep the original format or convert to JPEG/WebP/PNG. PNG is lossless, so quality only affects re-encoding, not compression ratio.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Loading, compressing, previewing and downloading all happen in your browser only — nothing is sent or stored on a server.
