Video Frame Extractor

Step through a video frame by frame and save stills at full resolution, one by one or in bulk.

Files never leave your device · Processed in your browser

What is the video frame extractor?

It saves a selected moment from a video as a still image. Capture exact frames one by one, or extract up to 100 frames from a range at fixed intervals or evenly spaced positions.

How to use it
  1. Open a video and find a scene with the scrubber or frame-step buttons.
  2. Choose Capture this frame, or set a range for batch extraction.
  3. Select PNG, JPG or WebP, quality and size, then continue to the result view.
  4. Save frames individually or download them together as a ZIP file.
Codec support and accuracy

Your browser must support the codec inside the file. A MOV or MKV extension alone does not guarantee playback; MP4 (H.264) or WebM is recommended. Frame stepping uses estimated presented-frame timing when available and otherwise assumes 30 fps.

Privacy and local processing

Opening, capturing, converting and creating the ZIP all happen inside this browser. Your video and extracted images are never uploaded or stored on a server.

Is my video uploaded?
No. Opening, seeking, extracting and preparing downloads all happen in your browser.
Can it open MOV or MKV files?
You can select them, but playback depends on the codec and browser. If a file fails, convert it to MP4 (H.264) or WebM.
How many frames can I extract?
Up to 100 frames in total. Frames already captured remain available if you stop a batch.
Are frames saved at original quality?
Original size uses the video's native resolution. PNG is lossless; JPG and WebP use the selected quality.
